At Camp Jupiter, the campers get permanent tattoos for every year they've been at the camp or for quests they've completed, similar to the Camp Necklace beads at Camp Half-Blood. The tattoos have lines on them that are similar to a bar code which symbolizes the marks of honor given to Roman soldiers after every battle. The tattoos do not wear off because they are burned on the legion member's skin on the forearm. Along with the lines, the god from which the family had descended from is included with the god's symbol.
Each Legionnaire is to have a Godly Parent or at least be the descendant of one if you are a legacy. There is the main rule for choosing your Godly Parent. You have to state the Roman name of him/her then describe what she/he is the god/goddess of. After this, you will be asked if you are a legacy of this god or not. Remember, a legacy is a child who is not the child of the god but has ancestry that leads to the god.
Satyrs, also known as Fauns by Romans, are creatures with the upper body of a man and the lower body of a goat complete with hairy goat legs and hooves, as well as goat horns, and the pointed ears of a goat. When in public, they tend to be clumsy, for they have to wear fake feet and hats so that the sound or appearance of their hooves or horns won't draw unwanted attention from mortals.
Lares (singular Lar) were guardian deities in Ancient Roman religion. Their origin is uncertain; they may have been guardians of the hearth, fields, boundaries, fruitfulness, hero-ancestors, or an amalgam of these.
